Who am I
Al-Hajj Ambassador Imam Douglas Owen-Ali was born in Kingston, Jamaica in April 27th 1957. He graduated from Queens College, NY with a B.A. in Political Science & Marketing, Communications/Media and International Relations in 1983. In addition, Ambassador Imam Owen-Ali holds a Masters Degree in International Law & Diplomacy (MILD) from the University of Lagos, Faculty of Law, Lagos, Nigeria in 1995, where he was awarded a commonwealth post graduate scholarship in 1991.
Over three decades, Ambassador Owen-Ali has consistently fostered connections between the Muslim world and the Western hemisphere. Notably, in 1994, he authored 'Islamic Law and International Relations,' later revised in 1998. His influential work continued with the publication of "Islam: Building Bridges of Understanding - A Jamaican Voice of Unity" in February 2004, outlining his journey to becoming an International Ambassador of Peace and a facilitator in international commerce and business.
Owen-Ali's impact extends to his extensive network, featuring relationships with current and former world leaders and major private sector figures. This network has significantly elevated his brand and credibility on both national and international levels.
